MIJAS Transitional Restaurant is a new social organization conceived of by a group of Latina women wanting to help women in crisis of domestic violence. The majority of the women who founded MIJAS were themselves victims of domestic violence and now want to help other women going through a similar situation by providing support, employment opportunities and a safe environment where they can be themselves.

MIJAS is a stepping stone employment center for women that are struggling due to domestic violence reasons. Through working and learning new job skills and abilities, MIJAS will create a space where women can become empowered and increase their self-esteem in order to provide for their families and, in turn, become self sufficient members of the community.

Along with cooking classes, catering events, meetings and trainings, MIJAS will be featuring Traditional Latin American food at various pop-up events throughout the South Sound.  If you have any questions about catering, upcoming events or how you can get involved, please contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
