Governor Hotel to be the host hotel for the Capital City Pride Celebration June 11th - 12th, 2011

Celebrating 20 years of Capital City Pride.

The Governor Hotel has been selected as the host hotel for the 2011 Capital Pride celebration scheduled for June 11th-12th, 2011

Capital City Pride is the Northwest’s kickoff Pride celebration at Sylvester Park, on the grounds of the Old Capitol Building in downtown Olympia. June 11 and 12, with the festival all-day Saturday and Sunday, and the parade beginning at noon on Sunday. National entertainers, food, the arts and nightlife highlight the festival.

2011 marks the 20th year for Capital City Pride.  Since 1991, our mission has largely stayed the same, but our festival and parade has seen amazing growth: from the early days as a 150-person rally; to the past three years, where attendance has ranged from 7,000-10,000 participants from around the region and nation. We have an unprecedented season of events planned, culminating in June with the festival and parade.

We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly, inclusive celebration of community for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and allied community in Olympia, all of Washington state and beyond. We value our strong working relationships with the City of Olympia and the State of Washington, important partners in operating the parade and festival.

The Pride committee are volunteers from Olympia and the surrounding community. Rainbow Center Olympia, Capital City Pride’s fiscal agent, is a federally recognized non-profit organization and is registered as a non-profit corporation with the Washington Secretary of State.
