Meet Blackhawk, our adopted wolf from Wolf Haven International. He was born in 1996 and has been living at the sanctuary since 2005 with his daugher Ladyhawk. He was privately owned by a couple in Oregon whose divorce forced him and his daughter to be rehoused in a privatey run wolf rescue in Sacramento, CA in less than ideal conditions. In the spring of 2005, they were crated and driven out to their new home in Tenino, WA. For more information about Wolf Haven International and their conservation efforts, please click here |
PLAN USA
At the Governor Hotel we believe in the importance of caring for others. For over 11 years we have sponsored a 13 year old child named Omel from Zambia. She lives in the Chikankata community where it takes her 45 minutes to reach her school or the nearest health facility. Chikankata is home to more than 3000 people and is situated at the end of the Zambezie Valley in Zambia, Central Africa. Omel has been our sponsored child since 1998 and we have had the pleasure of watching her grow through photographs and letters from her family and community volunteer with Plan as well as drawings from Omel. For more information on how you can support a child, please click here.

Join us in conserving our planet's resources! By partnering with our guests who participate in the Project Planet program, we prevent 40 gallons of detergent monthly from entering our storm drain system which helps protect the Pacific Northwest Salmon that is native to our area. We are also conserving 6000 gallons of water monthly. To participate, please place the appropriate Project Planet card on your bed and/or in your bathroom during your stay and our staff will be happy to honor your request for reuse. |
